Diarrhea after Nissen Fundiplication

Hey guys,

I had surgery on Friday, & took pain meds on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. I also took 2 laxative pills on Saturday because I was told I would have constipation from the pain meds.
Anyway, I have had very liquidly diarrhea on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (today) about 5-10 times a day.

Do u guys have any suggestions on what I can do u reduce or prevent the diarrhea?

The diarrhea is from the liquid diet unfortunately. The 2 laxatives probably didn't help either. Give it time to adjust and you'll be fine.

I agree with Joy. If it doesn't ease up in a couple days and you didn't have and constipation issues before surgery you could take 1 imodium to help. I hate it when doctors automatically think you have to have a laxative because you are taking pain meds. I never have to take any because I deal with loose stools all the time without my gallbladder.
