Well I have read lot of the People's post.. I am due to have my Tif.. sugery The 4th of Aug. I have had lots of sugery's. but this one is sort of scaring me a bit with the recovery???? I have had two total hip replacments and a knee replacment, but this sounds very scary?? I am a smoler and love my soda's/ but know that will be a no.no ,,after my sugery?? right?? the eating sounds like it is going to be hard just trying to find something to eat or drink that won't hurt me, what can I drink and eat, can I drink anything cold how bout water? I am very nervious about this,, can you lay in a pool :?? I am aftaid I will forget to ask the Doc. all I need to know afterwards!! Thanks and Good Luck to all of You!!:)

If you let your soda go flat you can drink it, but not with a straw. Later on you can drink it regularly.

The doctor should of given you a diet to follow. If he hasn't you can find it on line google "TIF Diet".
Mostly you stick to liquids the first two-three weeks ( broth, creamy soups, jello, juices, ensure or boost, popsicles, ice cream, very thin grits). Then slowly add mushy, soft foods. By week 12 you should be eating normally.
The main thing to remember is the chew to a liquid and take small bites.
Some people find that right after the surgery they need to stay away from iced drinks. It varies from person to person.
Since you have no outside stitches you can lay in a pool fine.
