Hi all again
Wow, i cant believe how bad the nerves are getting to me today. you would think i have never had this surgery before. this is the 3rd time and its supposed to b the charm, right?
Then why am i so anxious this time? wish it was tomorrow instead of wednesday. Guess it might b because no one else is home and i have time to think. should probably go find something to do but i spent yesterday getting all my stuff done so i could relax the next 2 days....bad idea.

I have a serious issue with way too much acid and bile also. If I skip a meal I get horrid dumping. Actually happening now because I am having a hard time eating. think I'll have to start taking the questran again to stop it. Hang tough my friend and it will get better. Probably not as soon as you want, but it will mprove.

Denise and Joy- thank you for setting my mind straight. You would think after 2 other nissens and what a horrid time I had with the holes in my stomach and esophagus this should be a breeze. Think the idea that my stomach may be too fore up to work has gotten to me. But if they have to replace the esophagus at least it will only be one extra incision on my neck since I will already have the belly incision. See I am getting back to my positive self again already, Thank you!

Sandi- thank you for all your support. I actually have been picking more lately. even named an instrumental song i wrote the other day. I wrote it for a very dear friend of mine who passed Dec. 5th 2009 at 38yo from CF complications. It's called Reggies Song. I had been working on it for about 6 months and finished it yesterday. even went to the cemetary and played it for her today. Sure do miss her. She and I grew up together across the road since we were about 3 or 4 yo. She brought joy to everyone she met. never let her frail tired body slow her down until God called her home. I haven't been able to play it for her mom, dad, and sister yet. Can't get through it without crying,
i will be on here just as soon as I am coherent. I'' be in Icu for 2 days, but that won't stop me.

Rita- with all you have been through and you still manage to offer support. thank you for the time you put in here. Even the bad stuff helps others.

Kitt- I know ypi are lurking and want to say Hello! Hope all is well with you and Hubby.

Michelle- i know you don't post here often, but I feel you should. May be of some help to get through these rough days. Worry about you so/

I promise to not let those stinkin feeling and what ifs get to me again. Gonna ake everything in stride as I used to.

Good Morning Bill and yes you are right,  I am always here and always reading as much as I can.  Moderating this forum is a joy for me and I remember the day you agreed to jump on board to join me. (((Hugs)))

You have been through so much since that day and there were times when your anxiety/depression got in the way but you always made your way back as you will again in beating the anxiety re this surgery. We are so alike and yet I could be your online Momma.  Age knows no boundaries when it comes to anxiety.

Anxiety feeds itself. Every time you have an anxious thought, it's like a stream of water flowing over the ground. Over time, that stream starts to dig itself a channel. The channel gets deeper, so it holds more water. Over time, the little streamlet turns into a gushing river, and your anxiety starts to spiral out of control. The river doesn't care where it goes it just follows the channel.

Try to keep in mind it  is perfectly normal to feel anxious re your surgery and I am sure the "what ifs?" are starting to overwhelm you but please keep on believing in yourself, trust in your Surgeon and hang out with your loving family today. I am here praying and supporting you through all your trials and tribulations as well as your happiness and joy.

Denise, I've never had such a sweet bunch of students. I give them a worksheet and they say "thank you". I'm always getting surprise hugs. I'm really going to have a great year.

I ran across this John Denver song and the lyrics just jumped out at me.. I do so love them.. It speaks of everything I would like to give you at this time for peace in your life and thoughts of happiness and Sunshine...

When I listen to the lyrics.. they never fail to bring me to a place of peace. Worry does not exist when you are at peace.. Have you ever heard his song "This Old Guitar"?? If not look it up and listen to it.. it is such a beautiful story...

I will be sending prayers out to you and your family, and as Kitt says.. sending (((Gentle Hugs))). It is amazing how much we come to care about our friends here who have become our family in healing....You are in the same age area as my sons...

Well you must be just getting up and ready to leave for the hospital soon.  Just wanted to stop in to let you know I am praying for you and keep up your positive attitude as it will take you far.

I loved the John Denver lyrics and am a huge fan of his music.  I sort of grew up with him.................I had all of his albums at one time.

I missed the John Denver conversation. I'm also a big fan, and was so, so sad when he died. I couldn't believe it. I went out and bought a "Best of" CD.

We so appreciate your positive attitude and supportive posts. You are very obviously a caring person, and it is a pleasure to have you here as a part of our forum family.

Yes, I've been very busy with my little grandson. He's 9 months old now, and keeps us hopping...he's crawling fast, and climbing up on things. He's also walking around holding on to the table or couch. I was just over there watching him while his daddy went to the gym. Tomorrow (our 38th anniversary ) we're watching him while his parents go out to a special event. They didn't expect us to do it, but we wanted to. We'll celebrate our special day on Friday.

Have a wonderful time with your big babies and little grandbabies! I can imagine you're about jumping out of your skin as you wait to start your trip! They do grow up fast! In this day of Skype and computer videos it helps a lot, but getting your hands on the real thing is the best. Have fun! I'm sure you'll take lots of pictures!

I'm glad to hear that you've got a good class. I know there's a honeymoon period, but the fact that they're so sweet is a good sign. I've had years when there wasn't even a day of "honeymoon"...not good!

Enjoy every moment with them! Tell us about how great they are...if you talk about it with your cohorts, they'll think you got the good class while they all got all the tough kids! A sweet class is just what the doctor ordered. It'll go a long way toward helping you feel better.

Have you shoveled your way out of the snow yet? I could use some snow about now. My allergies have been horrible. I'm so sick of feeling sick! I may even be getting a sinus infection from the going on 5 months of pollen onslaught!

Hope you're doing well.

Today I had 11 of my teacher friends (some retired some still working) over for a luncheon. I made quiche, fruit, and a cream cheese strudel (kind of like a cheese danish). It was nice to see them. You should have heard it here...everyone talking at the same time...cross conversations...I guess we've got to get together more often!

You certainly are good at giving your doctors a scare! Us, too! We've been here wringing our hands, wondering how you are, and hoping for the best!

It's so good to hear that you've gotten the NG tube out and are eating food again! Burping, too! Yay!

You take it very easy and FOLLOW THE DOC'S ORDERS! Hey, you were in the Navy...you know how to follow orders!

Oh, Bill

Hubby and I are so happy to hear from you. So happy. You are the face of this forum for me and so many others who have had or are having a rough go of it.

I want you to know that hubby and I both prayed for you and will continue to do so. You're such a good example of an honest, forthright and caring person and one who through his own problems and setbacks continues to inspire and encourage others.

I guess maybe at 64 I'm coming to believe more and more that there is some kind of grand scheme or at least a reason behind some of the things we don't always understand - the kind of things we ask "why" about so much.

Denise has been encouraging me today to relax and rest in my recovery and she is right, of course, as are all the other people on the forum who care and are so faithful to attempt to bolster our faith in our recovery when things aren't looking up so much. And that's what you and your journey have done and continue to do for me.

I hope you got your favorite flavor of Jello and that you're not in too much discomfort and that you can get some well-deserved rest. If anyone ever deserved it, it is you.

I haven't known you a long time as so many others on the forum have but I am most sincere when I say I care about your well-being and couldn't be more pleased that your big day finally came and that you're on the road to recovery again.

So good to read your words and know that you're okay.
