Hey Denise!
about
two weeks ago I forgot to take my PPI's for two days and I felt so great that I thought the weight I lost (35lbs) and exercise regimen I started had maybe solved my problem for me, so I stayed off of them after reading a few more studies about
how people can become dependent on them, etc. Plus, I felt way worse on the Nexium 40mg/day than I did off of it - while I was on it I wasn't up all night with heartburn, but I had chest pressure and bloating literally every day.
Things have been pretty good so far; a couple of days ago it started to flare up, but it was controlled with Gaviscon and Tums, which it never was before (even when I was on the PPI's). I had a flare up yesterday, including the weirdness I had last night, but I've felt good today. Plus this flare up was NOTHING like the ones I'd had before/while I was on the Nexium.
I finally started a food/feeling journal and will keep track. If it gets bad again, I will happily go back to the Nexium, but I will also head back to the doctor.
I would love to hear your input on this, Oh Wise One
Mockturtle,
I also felt like my body couldn't make up its mind, what a perfect way to put it.
Thanks for your kind words and advice. I definitely feel a lot better emotionally since finding this site. All of you are wonderful, in my humble opinion.
Take care everyone, I will post updates as they happen. It's like GERD CNN!
