Does anyone have any stories to share about this?
Now that my GERD pain is gone I'm noticing just a smidgen of pain (only about 1/10, and it goes away within 5 minutes) on my right side just under my ribs when I eat anything with oil (guacamole, hummus- literally anything). I know they're good fats, but they are still fats, so maybe they're annoying my gallbladder??
My doc asked me at least twice to make sure my pain wasn't on my right side when I saw him for GERD, leading me to believe that the two things can be related.
From my studying, I can see that if the bile isn't emulsifying the fat from my food in the duodenum, it's a possibility that food would just sit in the tummy and possibly cause heartburn (especially at night, which is when I used to get it worse). However, I get the pain very quickly after eating.
Any ideas? Even just a story about your experience would be helpful.
Thanks! I hope everyone is well :)
