Hello all,
I had never had any throat problems (asides from your regular sore throat) until about 3 weeks ago.
3 weeks ago I ate a super hot chili (in temperature and spiciness). I ate it quite quickly, not chewing very well.
That same night, and for the past 3 weeks or so, I've been experiencing a few of the symptoms associated with GERD -- feeling like something is stuck in my throat, and voice hoarseness the most noticeable. I've been feeling some anxiety, probably as a result of worrying over what this could be.
I am now wondering if I just hurt my throat and it's taking some time to heal, or if either relatedly or not to the chilli, I have GERD, or whatever else it could be. It definitely feels worse after having coffee or tea, and during night time.
Some info that may be pertinent: I drink occasionally and don't smoke. I smoked for about 1 and a half months earlier this year as part of preparation for a role in a play, but not everyday and no more than one cigarette a day. I'm 25.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Best,
P.M.
