Is it normal to get the pain all day?

Hi all,
just want to ask,
is it normal to have the pain all day with gerd? doesn't matter what you eat you are alway in constant pain all day?
my scope only found grade A esophagitis.. but the pain is constant.. chest pain & sore throat for 5 month??
I suffer the pain every single second for months.. not single day i feel normal..
i've been on a lot of PPI for month with no difference..

Is it normal for gerd? anyone feel the same? thx

Just thought I would let u know you aren't the only one, I'm in pain 24/7 I don't know what it's like to feel normal anymore. I haven't had an endoscopy yet as I didnt even know i had acid reflux till 4 weeks ago, I never had heartburn was ony until the pain was constant in my throat and sores in my mouth 2 moths ago I starte to think oh dear something isn't right. I'm on co-codamol but it isn't helping the pain. On an all liquid diet but acid still keeps comin up. I guess everyones throats are different u could be more sensitive to things. Go back to your GI and say your in constant pain, also try diet changes. It may take your throat time to heal :)

I could have written your post before I started the vegan diet. No matter what I ate, no matter how mild, or how small a portion, I was in horrible discomfort every day. I'm sorry you're going through that now, my friend.

I would definitely suggest keeping a food diary, and cutting things out. I know that sounds terrible, but I now feel normal again and don't miss meat or dairy a single bit. You don't have to go as extreme as I did, but maybe a few cutbacks here and there would help.

Sadly, I'm afraid it's possible to follow all the simple "don't eat" advice and still have symptoms 24/7. Most of us haven't had coffee, alcohol, spicy food or fatty food etc for longer than we can bear to think about. GERD is multifactorial and diet is just one aspect.
