Sore ears and throat

Hi everyone,

Has anyone suffered with burning ears with their GERD/LPR? I am on 20mg Pariet and it does nothing to help this. It has intensified slowly and now my entire face burns on my left side. I have tried doubling the meds for morning/evening, Gaviscon Advance, elevating the bed, nothing has helped with this. My doctor has looked in my ears and found nothing, but says my throat is red. It is always red! I also get a feeling like the roof of my mouth is burnt on the side that my ear hurts.

This burning has been going on for several months now, and is making me miserable!

If anyone knows any solutions to the burning ears I would be very grateful.

Well, I imagine it's the Eustachian tube because Doc can't see anything when she looks in my ears, and it does feel like the part that meets the throat. It's very persistent and seems to be worsening.The jaw/facial pain is a fairly new development.

The thing is, my Doc is starting to glaze over when I tell her of new symptoms. I really think she thinks I'm just a hypochondriac. All that has been found with all the tests is a small sliding hernia and a weak LES. 24Hr test was normal ( I had no symptoms when it was attached, wouldn't you know it!)

I am starting to question whether any of my symptoms are acid based. The ENT 'thinks' it is, the GI thinks otherwise, he dismissed everything and sent me packing.

My life is pretty much at a standstill, and is all about pain right now. I find it hard to believe that no doctor has been able to clearly identify my problems, and don't seem worried that I am in constant pain.

I have gone to the doctors a few times believing I had either and ear infection or fluid but had neither! My GP said it was silent reflux so I guess this fun thing called GERD just messes up everything it can, even our ears!!
