surgery scheduled Tuesday- heart pvc's

My surgery of NF for repair of paraesophageal hernia is scheduled for Tuesday and I got a call from my PCP and cardiology dept telling me I have PVC's and need to go in for a stress echo right away. I'm wondering if the PVC's could be caused from years of anemia or my asthma meds. Have any of you experienced a glitch like this? I was told by the doctor's assistant that if the stress echo came back irregular the surgery might be cancelled. I'm going for the test in a couple of hours and am feeling rather anxious which is not a good thing for the test, I know. Any advice and similar story?

I do not have a similar story, but I am here to say that we are all with you in this.. hoping that everything comes out well for you. I had the Nissen back in April. Last month I had to have a pacemaker put in.. my heart decided to go into Sick Sinus Syndrome.. what a bummer.. but I am feeling better every day..
I will be sending out healing prayers for you.. things will be fine.. Let us know how you are doing...

I just went for the stress test and the cardiologist thought I'd be fine for surgery. I still have the extra heart beats, but they disappear under stress, which is a good thing. I am relieved.

Hi Starry,

I don't think my issue was just like yours, but I did get rejected by the hospital EKG.  They said that there was an abnormal wave and wouldn't give me the OK.  They said I would need to go to my PCP for an EKG to see if he would okay the surgery.  I did, and he did. Apparently the strange wave was a result of my asthma, and the resultant size of my lungs and pressure on the heart.  Who knew?

I hope you are cleared and can go forward with the surgery as planned!  Keep us informed!
