Ok,i recently had the TIF procedure, but first a little background. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth and after suffering with acid reflux for about 5-6 yrs. and taking numerous types of pills I went to see a specialist about my reflux. I went and saw Dr. Glen Ihde who has been doing surgeries for Gerd for over 13 yrs. Anyways after he stuck some camera tube down my throat, it was determined that I desperately needed surgery before things got bad.
So on Jan.9,2012 I had the TIF procedure anyways after the surgery I really wasn't in much pain other than throat was killing me and I couldn't swallow nothing. Well in order to correct the swelling in my throat , another doctor at the hospital decided it best to give me a high dose of Medrol (steroid) into my IV. Well about 8 hrs. After the injection my heart rate fluctuated greatly and I started having a major anxiety attack (felt like I was dying). Needless to say it stopped after a couple of hours and the attack still come and go but I think it is still working out of my system.
As for everything else I feel fine, slightly nauseas, exhausted, but no pain. The diet blows and every time I eat jello I can't help but think of that old jello commercial with Bill Cosby. Soup tastes good but, at 5 calories it doesn't do good with my 5'9" 210 lbs body.
I must saying finding these forums has given me so much hope and helped with my anxiety problems allot. It hasn't been even a week for me yet but, for all worried about their procedure, just hang in there. It looks like most of this is a sit and wait, which will vary from person to person. Just remember the best way to healing is a positive attitude through. You almost have to will yourself through it, it seems.
