Alrighty guys, back in August of last year, I had gotten off from work around lunch time and was starving, getting ready to hit the road and visit a friend. I stopped at the gas station, got beef jerkey, a soda, and cigarettes. Great Combo!!! All of a sudden after the jerkey and two cigs, my heart started to beat out of its chest, like I was having a heart attack. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. I quickly pulled over and sat there to try and relax for a few minutes.
I was a nervous wreck the rest of the evening thinking my heart was gonna explode, which it didn't....but ever since, my GERD seemed to have kick itself into FULL gear that very day.
A little history. My father has heartburn and I've always had it too..just not this bad. I am a heavy eater, well...was anyways. Wings, chicken, beef, etc etc. I drank a lot from 21-22...and I started smoking this past March but quit two weeks after this episode.
My question is: Can GERD set in and just HAPPEN like that? I constantly and always have popped tums, but it seems to be worse now.
I have had a few mini-sodes of the chest pain/heart racing since then and am CONSTANTLY belching. It never stops. And after I eat....belch belch puke belch. Its gross. I can literally bring up what I just ate if I wanted to....and sometimes I have to for relief.
I am on Pantorprazole x 2 a day and it helps with the acid, but not the indigestion.
Symptoms : Back/Shoulder Pain, Sinus Infection, Ear Pain, Chest Pain, Constant Belching, Fatigue Sometimes, Trouble Breathing (or so it seems), Abdominal Pain and Rubbing....etc etc.
ANY HELP INSIGHT OR ADVICE BEFORE MY GI APPOINTMENT WOULD PUT MY MIND TO REST A LITTLE. THANKS GUYS.
