Hey everyone,
I know I've been bad and haven't posted in ages! One year ago today I stumbled upon this site. It was the day before I had my surgery and I was a bundle of nerves. I got so much good information here and felt as at ease as possible the day before surgery. I ended up home recovering for a full 6 weeks and have been doing well. I am able to eat so many things I went years without. As a matter of fact, I just ate some chili while watching the Super Bowl. There are a few things that aren't worth the trouble. I have difficulty getting some meat and raw veggies down. Bread is ok as long as it is not too soft. I recently had a bad time with a vitamin. I decided I should take a daily dose and bought a jar of Centrum for women. you know you can't see through the container. I believe this is because the size of those tablets would scare off most people. I cut one in half and swallowed and immediately regretted that move. It was the next day before I felt like it had gone down. My experience has been that if it is stringy or doesn't dissolve easily, I should not put it in my mouth. If it is in my mouth, I had sure better chew it well.
That being said, my diet is actually less restricted than when I suffered reflux all the time. My energy level is back to normal and I have resumed most of my activities. Some exercises, like jumping jacks, that seem to jar the stomach area, are not in my routine anymore.
I thank everyone on this site for support given. I treasure my good health daily.
Peggy
