Hi All,
I've been diagnosed with fairly severe GERD and Gastritis recently (last 3 months) and have been treating it with the usual list of PPI's and H2's. I'm finally getting to the point where my non stop coughing, regurgitation, and heartburn are more manageable and now I have a new symptom, darn it!
I've been having this strange, persistent burning sensation in my lower left abdominal region, above my hip, but below my belly button. Anyone have this while on PPI's or associate it with GERD before? It doesn't feel like it's coming from my stomach and I don't think it's gas pain. My bowel movements also continue to be normal. The pain is much more noticeable when I'm sitting down and sometimes radiates across my lower abdomen or to my crotch.
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this? Is it something you've associated with GERD before or a side affect of coughing too much, tums overuse, anything else? I've been getting lots of fiber in my diet lately too (to help with GERD), and have been eating very healthy ever since my original diagnosis.
Any input would be appreciated. I will talk to my doctor about this, but I thought I'd ask around here before shelling out yet another copay.
Thanks!
