Hi Barry,Congratulations! Four weeks is a great start. Your stomach is still just beginning to recovery from a terrible onslaught of surgical tools and needles, so it's understandable that it's still complaining. It's hard to remember that as we recover from laproscopic surgery. Our outsides heal quickly and look great, and we regain our strength and ability to do things long before our internal healing is complete.
Remember to continue to baby your stomach. It has been through a lot. You're a month into healing, but still have a lot of healing ahead of you. Around here we are always reminding each other that it takes 6 months for the majority of the internal healing to take place, and a full year for the rest. I found, to my surprise, that the fine-tuning continued into the second year and one day I realized that I was no longer experiencing a side effect I thought would be with me for life!
If you can surrender to the recovery and follow it where it leads you, you'll do just fine. Those who struggle against what IS, have a lot harder recovery. Let your stomach tell you how to proceed...it will show its appreciation by feeling better.
Everyone responds to the surgery in his own way. Just go with the flow, and you'll do just fine.
Glad you're sticking around the forum. It's a great place to be post-op! I was helped so much here when I had my surgery 3 years ago that I decided to hang around and help others the way I was helped.
Happy healing!
Denise
