Hi fightingspirit,Welcome to Healing Well! You're now a full-fledged member of the Wrapped Club! At two days, you're in the toughest part of your recovery. At this point you need to expect difficulty swallowing and need to stick to liquids or very soft, smooth foods. Even those will be difficult and painful to swallow.
As Kitt said, your stomach has been stretched and wrapped and stitched, and there has likely been a repair of your hiatal hernia as well.
I don't have a lot of time to write right now, but here's a link to my recovery journal, in case you haven't seen it.

Also, here's a great resource regarding eating:

Be sure to take your pain medication. Don't worry about the eating and drinking at this point. Stay away from iced drinks and don't use straws, as they can introduce air into your stomach and add to bloating.
Hang in there...this is the roughest part. It'll improve over time.
Talk to you soon,
Denise
