Length of Actual Nissen Wrap.

 Hi, would anyone know what length a nissen wrap shold be around the esophagus,im asking this because i have been reading a lot of medical notes on the procedure and there seems to be a few differences.Most of what i have read say the wrap should be 2-3 cms.I dont know what bearing this has on the actual function of the wrap but after my surgery i overheard my surgeon telling his registrar that my wrap was 4cm in length midline.Im worried now that this is wrong and its causing alot of my problems that im having.Hope someone can help.Thanks.Barry

Hi Denise, i had a 360 wrap,surgeon said he wouldnt do a 270.I was just wondering if the length of the wrap made any difference to the outcome.I just watched a video last night on youtube by a surgeon Peter Crookes explaining about complications after Nissen Surgery where he showed pictures of wraps and on one he said it was too long but didnt explain the consequences of that. Im just over worried here because of my problems,got an appointment with surgeon in the morning,hopefully he can tell me whats going on. Thanks. Barry
