Did you ever get relief from the lump in your throat? I'm struggling with it for about 4 weeks now and just can't seem to get much relief. Thx

So many different things have happened to me over the last four months with my digestive system. I do not have the lump in my throat any longer however, I have a whole new set of problems. I believe that when I had the lump in m throat was when I was taking the PPI's. As soon as I went off the PPI's, the lump went away. Somehow, they are not working for me.

In the last month-two months though, I have developed pretty bad chest pain when breathing. I still hae a discomfort in my chest and to me, it feels like acid reflux without burning.....it's as if I have stuff in my esophogus. I also get that occasional feeling like I need to burp to clear the pressure in my chest. My GI doc did an endoscopy on 5/24/12, didn't find anything. I saw a pulminory doctor yesterday and he did chest xrays. I have more tests (breathing) coming up but I don't see that doc again until 7/2.

I am so depressed over all of this and I couldn't even get to sleep last night. I think that I have reflux that is spilling over to my airways and I just don't know how I'm going to resolve this...

Are you taking anything and do you have a history of reflux?

I have been battling reflux for about 17yrs, I have been on every ppi know to man. Aciphex worked for 8yrs or so but now I'm on Dexilant, zantac, and carafate when needed. The last year has been hell, I think I've had more issues and symptoms this last year than I have over the first 16yrs and now I struggle with lpr symptoms as well. My GI has done all he can (without surgery), so now it's off to the ENT for the lpr issues (I fear theres not much they can do).

I also struggle with being depressed over all of this, I'm not sure if it's some side effect of the meds and/or just the daily drain of the never ending battle.

Your airway reflux sounds like lpr, which is what I currently struggle with (pain in ears, sore throat, tight/lump in throat). I also wonder daily, will I ever resolve this..... Here's to better days!

The ENT was glad to take my money, but said there was nothing he could do for me that my GI hasn't already. He did say he could refer me to talk to a surgen (oh boy).

I continue to struggle with LPR symptoms, some days more than others.

Im happy to say that i am feeling much better. I started taking a lotvof probiotics and stuff and i think my issues have resolved for the most part. I still take a zantac now and then and i use dgl licorace but feeling pretty good. Hope you find relief soon. I posted a thread about a week ago about my feeling better and the things i have done.
