Hi Joy,Have fun visiting your sister! Your mom must be doing well for you to be able to to leave. I thought about you when all the dangerous storms were traveling around Georgia. Glad to hear you made it through fine.
I'm starting the Xolair tomorrow. At nearly 61, I want to enjoy the time I have left! If it can make it possible for me to be able to go outside in summer, instead of being stuck in he house, it is worth any small risks attached. My old asthma doc as well as my new one are very comfortable giving it to me, so I'm going with it.
It's extremely expensive ($1000+ a month for just the med) and my insurance denied it. Fortunately, my doc put my name into the company that makes it. They called and asked some questions about finances, I sent them our tax returns, and lo and behold, they're providing to me for free. Thank goodness. It's worth a try...if it works, great! If it doesn't, I'll just stop the injections. Fingers crossed, though.
Bill,
Live and learn. What an annoying thing to have your daughter get hurt doing a PE unit at school! Our kids were basketball players, but the PE teacher was a wrestling coach. He always insisted in a wrestling unit, and I remember once when our son got hurt doing wrestling moves (bridges or something) that weren't appropriate for someone who hadn't trained for wrestling. He was out for a few weeks. It was frustrating as heck. Glad to hear your daughter's shoulder surgery went well!
Good luck with your SCS procedure! I hope you find real relief. You be careful out on that ice. With the way things have changed climate-wise, it's not as predictable. Take care!
Sandi,
You just keep looking for those rainbows! Yes, we are enjoying our little grandkids. Our grandson is nearly 27 months and is growing and learning leaps and bounds. He's been sick the last week, so my husband and I are Clorox wiping everything he touches after he leaves!
With asthma, I don't need to catch a bad cold! Unfortunately, he has inherited a little of my asthma, so he needs my nebulizer when he has a cold. Hopefully he'll outgrow it. Unfortunately, I didn't! Whenever I get a cold, it's off to the races.
Have a wonderful time at your fish fry. It sounds delicious! I'm sure you'll find plenty of corners to tuck that yummy food! Enjoy every moment!
Kitt,
I know it's rough for you with those side effects from your chemo. You need to remember that we're all rooting for you and sending healing thoughts and strengthening vibes. Watch for the rainbows Sandi is sending your way.
((((HUGS)))) to all!
Denise
