Travel insurance for child

Hi. I am going on holiday shortly with my 8 year old who has GERD and IBS and is on PPIs. We have travel insurance through our bank already but I have to pay a substantial amount to get her gerd covered in case of any emergency treatement. Although we frequently went to A and E for her IBS prior to diagnosis they never gave her any treatment that way anyway.

I am going for 7 days. Do you think I should pay the money in case of emergency - not sure what that emergency would be though?

Easy my friend. I don't have any doubt rainbow would get her child medical attention if there was an emergency. I believe she's just wondering about obtaining and paying for costly insurance for a week.

At any rate, with or without insurance if you bring a child to an ER you will receive medical help. It is very taxing (on all levels) to care for a child with health isuues.
