I am now training but have never been able to get back to same lift weight, it took a long time (6 months +) to do any abdominal or core work and even then it felt poor. I have accepted that I will never be able to train at the same level and now I focus more on cardio than anything else, what hasn't helped is that I tore the fundoplication around 12 months and symptoms have returned which makes training hard.
I had a fundo and had no hernia, it was done lap and the punctures through the abdominal wall were what stopped me training.
