Hi there - I'm new to the forum but not to GERD. I've had it since I was 19 and I am now 37.

I had the Nissan Fudoplication 1.5 years ago. Bad experience. I'm still on Lansoprozole.

I had heart burn coming back a couple weeks ago. I barely drink anymore but had our annual volley-ball tourney and over indulged.

I'm having trouble swallowing and back pain in my mid-upper back. Chest pain too.

I swallow liquids and it takes a while to get to my stomach, food is not so bad.

Anybody have any experience with this problem?

Gerd has been running my life for years, it's hard not to be depressed when I get these symptoms.

Hi Hutts,sorry to hear your having swallowing problems so soon after your nissen,i was told you should get ten years out the op.i had nissen 6 months ago and its also been a bad experience aswell,trouble swallowing and back on ppis.I seem to have more trouble with liquids to,they seem to take a while to go into the stomach,i would lie down or turn a certain way after a drink of water and i feel it going down with a gurgling sound.Your right about this causing depression,im thinking of going on antidepressants.Have you had any tests yet to see what might be going on? Barry

I have an appointment in a few weeks to see some sort of swallowing expert.

I had a scope to see if the surgery was still in tact about 10 months ago and it was. I'd like to get another one now.

Barium swallow showed everything to be fine. But I'm not fine.

I exercise 5 days a week and watch what I eat but still have problems.

My natural path said to drink a cup of very hot water every hour to help with the swallowing.

I had the gurgling thing too after the surgery, it sucks donkey balls. It eventually got better.
