Hi Sheila,Glad to hear you're doing well! I definitely understand your desire to get back to running. I suspect you'd do well to stick to speed walking for a while longer...did you see it on the Olympics? It can be very fast and in some ways more strenuous, as you have to keep everything smooth and no bouncing!
I would guess you can try running and if you don't have discomfort, go for it. Still, I'd check with your surgeon to be sure. My guess is that they'll tell you to listen to your body and do what feels okay.
Still, the benefit of speed walking is that it keeps things smooth, and your organs won't be bouncing around. Your insides have been moved around and aggravated by all the surgical tools, and may stiill complain loudly at being jostled. From my experience, all this is trial and error.
