I went to see my doctor last week as I have been having bother with my throat recently. It hasn't been painful as such more of a tight, uncomfortable feeling especially when I raise my head upwards. I also felt as if something was stuck in my throat making it uncomfortable swallowing. It's always worse in the morning when I wake up, then it comes and goes throughout the day. Usually it feels better after I eat something.
It's not just my throat that's bothering me though - my gums are sore too especially at the back of my mouth. I'm also getting occasional mild pain in my ears, and sometimes even my neck feels sore when I turn my head from side to side - sort of like a muscular pain. It's my throat and gums though that are causing me the most discomfort.
My doctor had a look down my throat and saw no inflammation or sign of infection. He also felt all around my neck etc checking for swollen glands but everything felt fine. We talked about acid reflux because I've had it before, and I've just started taking 20mg Omeprazole.
I was just wondering if these symptoms are familiar to anyone on this forum? When I first had acid reflux about 3 years ago my only symptoms were heartburn and excessive belching - I didn't have any of the symptoms I've got this time around. I guess I just didn't realise that acid reflux symptoms could escalate beyond heartburn.
If anyone can relate to my symptoms I'd appreciate hearing about it - especially if anyone has advise on what can ease the symptoms a bit. Thanks.
