Here's my situation. I had a TIF/ Hernia repair 8 months ago and for the most part my I've had voice fatigue and mild pain in my throat. I've managed to live with out much medication the last 3 months. Prior to 3 months ago I experimented with meds and found they tend not to help to much and they made my stomach feel upset, so I stopped taking them. I started taking them 3 days ago again however and I've noticed that they give me heartburn/chest pain/ throat burning still.
I didn't have this problem prior to my surgery, but It feels like I'm taking a really deep breath with some kind of mind candy in my mouth. I started taking the PPI/TUMs/H2 meds because I saw on a recent 24 hr ph probe I had that I was refluxing during the night still. When I woke up I noticed on the monitor that I was hovering around a ph of 5.
The doctor called me up and said the reflux was primarily at night, which confirms what I saw. I have been having problems sleeping/breathing and waking up with out the medication recently, but I've still managed to feel ok during the day. With the meds I feel burning in my throat, but sleep better. It's basically an option I have of pain + sleep or Little pain + no sleep. Just for the record I do sleep up in a chair every-night, but I have trouble breathing sitting straight up. I kinda have to sit up and sleep leaning to my left sit to be able to breath.
If you anyone has any advice or input on what to try or do, please feel free to comment. Thanks!
