  I am so happy I found this sight. I am from Ky. have had major asthma for about 7  years, Acid reflux 7 years with a large haital hernia  .Have been on presidone 8 times in 7 months. Lung infections, coughs.    Dr thinks it is the hernia, acid reflux. Just glad to hear some good things on here as I am very nervous about this/ I live alone.    My dr. tells me if I stay on the liquid diet 2 weeks then soft for 6 I will be fine. in past 2 months have lost 12 lbs from avoiding foods that give me bad acid reflux.   Will keep you posted. thanks

Welcome to Healing Well. Good luck with surgery Tuesday. Hey-I am having surgery on Tuesday also, but for an SCS not the Nissen.

Nano,

the surgery was life saver for me, even though I am having some problems now (10 years after). I suggest you get someone to stay with you and help you in the first few days - you will be sore and will not be able to move around all that much - maybe a friend etc. Also, it will help you recover if you have someone to be there with you and help you and keep you company. It is not an easy recovery for some people but you will be fine. It will be great for you to finally not have asthma and cough due to reflux. Keep us posted and if you have any other questions, let us know.
