I am 19. I have had GERD since I was a kid. I throw up on a daily basis, get really bad heartburn, which makes me feel like crying most of the time. When I was younger I never understood why I threw up so much and why everyone thought it was so weird. It took me years to convince a doctor to even explore what was wrong.
I have had an endoscopy, which diagnosed my hernia, I had a PH monitor stomach test, which showed about 250 something reflux episodes,50 something of which were on the high scale, an Esophageal manometry and as of 2 days ago a Barium Swallow.
During my Barium Swallow, I only refluxed once.
I have a meeting with my doctor in 2 weeks to discuss whether I can get surgery or not.
Do you think they will repair my hernia based on those results?
I am somewhat concerned about the effects of such regular reflux, such as Barretts Esophagus etc.
