Hi everyone. I'm having my Fundoplication surgery in less than a week and thought it was time to introduce myself. I've had GERD and a hiatal hernia for as long as I could remember, accompanied with vomiting for the past decade. I'm 30 by the way.
The vomiting has gotten worse over the years, and I've decided to the take the plunge and get corrective surgery. As long as I take omeprazole daily, I don't get acid reflux, though I haven't been able to shake the vomiting. Honestly, I could live acid reflux and the omeprazole to keep it in check, but I'm at the end of my rope with the vomiting.
For those who've gotten the surgery and had similar symptoms, has it helped?
Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike,
Welcome to these boards. It seems like you've been through a lot. I wish you luck with the Fundo. There are several Fundo experts here who will surely aid you in your recovery.
I am sure you did all the due diligence on NF, but reading through your post I couldn't help but notice that your main complaint is vomiting. Have you nailed down the root cause for it ? Given that fundo will not let you vomit afterwards, you really don't want to be in a situation where your stomach wants to throw up and the wrap doesn't let you do it.

According to the motility study, it's low LES pressure from the hiatal hernia.
I usually get nauseous after eating, hence the vomiting.
