Hi guys i have a few questions regarding what i should do. So about four months ago, i went to bed and took a vitamin pill and it felt like it got stuck in my throat and i couldnt wash it down with water so i went to sleep and that whole entire night i remember is when the burning sensation in my esophagus started. I went on like this for about two months and all the while i went to doctors who told me i should go see a GI because they didnt know what to tell me. So i finally went to see a GI and he did an endoscopy, not being able to find anything but slight esophagitis and a little irritation on my stomach lining. He said he thought it was stress and sent me home with 60mg of dexilant. All the while the burning in my esophagus never stopped. When i say this i mean that my esophagus doesnt stop burning 24/7. Especially at night when i TRY to elevate myself but the acid still comes up in my throat. I then went to my doctor for a check and told her my symptoms and he tested me for h pylori which came out positive and i did a two week course of triple therapy antibiotics. After the first three days of the antibiotics, the burning subsided completely but on the fourth day it all came back like clockwork. I told my doctor that and she said that it was probably due to the antibiotics. However after i got off of them and tested negatiave, it has been three weeks now and i still feel the same symptoms. I am perscribed protonix and its 40mg and i take it once a day but still have burning 24/7 in my esophagus. I am also on a strict diet of no candy, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, soda, etc and I only eat bagels with cream cheese basically or oatmeal. I have treat herbal medicines like ginger tea and aloe vera and dgl and all kinds of things and i still dont get relief. My doctor is scheduling me to do a ph test and see where things go from there. I am curious as to why i continue to have burning in my esophagus even though i am eating right and sleeping elevated. I also tried digestive enzymes, such as hcl, and that gave an enormous amount of acid reflux. So i think that that means that i have an excess amount of acid as opposed to the (newely developed theories) of too little acid. I am worried for the erosion of my esophagus and also my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer just a while ago. (even though no other generations of our family has had any problems with stomach cancer.) It worries me and even though i had an endoscopy done and they found nothing and they even took biopsies and found nothing. I am worried that even with ppis and diet change and other sorts i am not reducing the amount of acid in my stomach. It is all so sudden to me considering i am nineteen years old and have never had any stomach problems prior to this. I have been researching nissen fundoplication and i am wondering whether this could be my only source of treatment, i have been suffering from this for four months and i know that is a short amount of time as opposed to other people on here but i have these symptoms chronically and always always burning in my esophagus, along with that i have burping(which brings the acid up) and i get full after two bites. COuld this be gerd even though every kind of food is causing me to have it? Please respond and let me know what you guys think. Thank you
