I'm at wits end with all this now and I have no idea what it is.. My doctor has no idea either which is annoying and upsetting.
Basically, I have this issue with my esophagus it seems. I'm constantly burping, and feels like vomit is coming up my throat, but only goes half way. I don't gag or anything though. I'm also constantly nauseous as well it seems. Some days are not so bad, but other days are. Like yesterday for example, I only burped like, 10 times in the day. But today, it's been well over 70 times as usual. It seems like it comes in waves.. Like I would be burping every 10 seconds or so for a while, then goes away for a little while, then comes back again. It's like some sort of attack.
What annoys me the most is when I feel something come up which feels like a burp but I need to force it to pass them, but then sometimes I get this liquid come up (doesn't reach my mouth) and leaves a horrible vomit like taste in my mouth. Most of the time it doesn't feel acidic, in fact it rarely feels acidic, it's just like water. I've also noticed that I have a lot of mucus in my throat, and I can feel it whenever I swallow sometimes, and it really does feel thick and horrible. (sorry if tmi).
I've explained this to my parents and doctor and they all assume it's all anxiety related, but surely anxiety wouldn't cause this?? I'm stuck and upset because I don't want to put up with this for the rest of my life... Does any one on here have any idea what it might be??
btw, it feels as if food/drink is coming back up undigested. I remember years ago when I ate some crisps and an hour or so later I burped and (sorry if too much info) part of a crisp came back up into my mouth, and it was like how I swallowed it the hour before... I've never had that happen again though.
