I am right there with you. I have had the same symtoms for the last few days. I have thought about
going to the ER for reassurance, but I now it is the same thing I have gone through many times in the past. I kn0w the holiday food and drink have my acid reflux flaring up. I wish I had some quick solutions for you you, but I have been looking for them myself. I recently tried changing to another PPI and I believe it has added to my pain. My doctor thought I should try another one to see if it helped. I have been on PPI's for about
30 years. The meds and diet seem to keep it under control most of the time, but it seems every year or two I go though a spell where it gets really bad. I always have some type of mild chest pain from the acid reflux. When it gets out of control the chest pain really get bad, then I get worried and that makes it worse. Then the stress comes and it is all down hill from there.
My solution for now is to go back to my old PPI, use some antacids after meals, try to relax a bit and(now that the holiday are over) get back to a better diet. Knowing myself, if I do not get some inprovement, I will be in the doctors office for an EKG to make me feel better.
