Everyone is different (with some exceptions like caffeine which is universally a problem) when it comes to which foods trigger their reflux. Might want to start a food diary and try to understand what triggers it for you. This is how I learned to manage it, eat something see how it plays out. Fact is there are a lot of foods that you probably love that won't be advisable in the future. I hated stopping coffee but I had to.
For some sadly reflux never goes away, it is a disease so lifestyle changes, diet are permanent as well as the drugs. It doesn't sound like yours is very severe if you can go for days without Nexium. It may never go away though if your esophageal sphincter is not working properly, you are only treating the symptoms with Nexium. The drug does not fix the sphincter it only reduces the amount of acid coming up your esophagus. Less acid in your stomach , less to move up your throat.
If you Google ulcer diets it will give you an idea of what should be avoided as most anything that causes ulcers increases acid production and reflux as well.
You can try apple cider vinegar as well as a lot of home based treatments for reflux, see if they work, most times they don't. None of them worked for me but some will swear by them and claim
drugs like Nexium are just the pharmaceutical industries way of extracting billions from the public. For me only the drugs , diet and lifestyle changes helped.
