Day 1 Post Op Nissen

I had my Lap Nissen and Hiatal Hernia repair yesterday. I'm now home resting comfortably. I have been able to tolerate broth, jello, and juice. I have been walking around well. My meds consisted of Percocet and Torodol in the hospital. I came home with Perc, Ibuprofen, Zofran, and Mylanta. This is my 4th Laparacopic procedure and has been the easiest with regards to pain at incisions. I have experienced some shoulder pain but it has been managed with pain meds. I know my toughest days are yet to come but I'm feeling quite well. Had a few hiccups, no burping though. My surgeon said that my hernia was actually pretty big instead of small as indicated on the Upper GI. Thanks to you guys for easing my nerves and making me as prepared as I could have been.

Welcome to the Wrapped Club! Glad to hear your surgery went well and you're home and resting! I know what you mean about the forum providing support and information. I had my surgery four years ago, and I don't know what I would have done without it!

Take it easy and go with the flow. If you can surrender to your recovery and follow its lead, it will make things easier. Listen to your body, and you'll do great!
