We are staying as dry as possible. They had to
open the dams all the way to control the Mighty Miss. The smaller rivers are still causing havoc with levees breaking and such. If we could get some warmer temps at night the mushrooms should start popping.
Michelle is having some issues still from her thyroid surgery. Her calcium is way low and the amount of calcium she has to take isn't agreeing with her. The incision area is really bothering her also. Combine that with the crazy weather this Spring and she isn't feeling to well. Hopefully the weather will break and she can get outside and get into the sun.
As for me, well I go back to the VA on the 29th for another reprogramming with the surgeon present. He wants to see exactly what is happening before he decides whether to or not to
open my back up again. I don't have very high hopes the reprogramming will work since it wasn't even close last time, but we shall see.
I also was denied SSDI on my appeal and my lawyer is working on the case to present to the judge. I have an urge to try working somewhere, but if I do I blow my chances for the SSDI and right now I am looking at over 3 years back pay if I win. Things are tough with both of us off of work though.
My daughter's shoulder is coming along very well. She was released to start using light weights and weight bands on Tuesday. She is ahead of expectation for how far she can rotate her shoulder, which is great news. We are hoping she will be released to at least pinch run for the pitcher or catcher for playoffs. It's a long shot, but if we could get her out on the field in any way that would help inspire the young players we have.
She told me last night that all the freshman and sophmores are disappointed they weren't able to play with her. They told her they all were inspired by her when they were younger and wanted to be just like her. She isn't used to that since she has always played on an elite travel team were everyone was a very good player. Apparently they have been fans of her even when they were about
10. We have parents of the freshman coming up to her and I talking about
games they watched her play at H/S and travel ball and it seems she has a big fan following we never knew about
.
Really weird to have people come up to us and say I remember this and that game and when she did this and that. Being a coach people also saw me a lot and know who I am as well as her, but these are people we have never met.
We even had one of the fans at a game say he wished she was able to play because he is the head of her fan club.....that's strange.
He H/S coach told us a couple games ago he wishes the same as us....wishes he was watching #17 out there at shortstop. LOL! Yeah the team isn't doing too well this year without anyone on the field to be their leader. There are no seniors out there and the 3 juniors aren't ready to lead the team yet.
Well enough about
that. As far as GERD goes, my wrap is still doing a great job. I may have another one of the Gulf War syndrome symptoms though. My GI thinks I have some form of inflammatory bowel disease and I have a scope on the 3rd of May. If I do that will be the 6th symptom and time to file my claim with VA.
Joy- Don't give up on that SSDI case. They make it hard, but stick to it.
Denise- Hopefully that nasty bug will bypass you all.
Sandi- hope you are doing well and things are under control.
Kitt- Praying things are getting better for you every day. Miss you!
Take care,
Bill
