Thank you for all your support...............I am trying to get back in the ball game here but it has been exactly one week today since I completed my 10 rounds of chemo.  The Dr. stopped me at 10 rounds instead of pushing the 12 rounds as the chemo was very toxic to me.  It caused severe neuropathy and I could barely walk and my hands were useless.

The one thing I do believe is I had gastritis and not GERD as ever since surgery for the bowel resection on 8/16 i have had a lot of queasiness from the chemo and what one physician felt was some gastritis.  No regurge although I am still on the Prilosec I will discuss this med with my PCP down the road.

My cancer has and continues to be the battle of my life.  The chemo drains your energy, stamina and slams you around with all the side effects .............I lost 35 lbs the first 6 weeks.  Could hardly walk alone and feeling very down but I will find some helium at a birthday party and start to rise again.

Thank you to my mod peers for holding down everything - I guess you could do very well with out me but I do want to get back and belong to this great group.

Glad to hear the chemo is done. Now you can really start to heal. Mom still has some issues with her hands, but it has gotten a lot better.
It might take a couple of those helium balloons, but you will rise!

Hello Kitt,

Even though we have never corresponded, let me just state this:

The ballgame is never over until it's over. I've seen people bounce back from stage 3-4 Cancer.

Keep a positive attitude and let's hope that the treatments are going to work and have you back in full force.

One step at a time... Hang tight...

Thank you to everyone of you !!!!  The support and encouraging words help me find that reason to push through the tough times.

There is no real way to describe the shock and fear I felt when I learned I had Colon Cancer Stage IIIC.  I kept repeating to my husband, I am only 66 years old............... :(

 

7 months have gone by and even thow I did not make it through 12 rounds of chemo due to the toxic effect on my body I made it through 10 and from here on I am  working at getting stronger and mentally tougher. 

I am honored to be aq member and moderator of GERD and I have met so many members over the years that I feel safe and at home here with all of you.

Let's have that Helium Party and eat cake. If you know me well you know I love to laugh and joke but never do I mean to be disrespectful so if I make a joke re my own Cancer remember Laughing at Cancer Takes Away Some of Its Sting  cool
