Latest from Torax on LINX Eligability and EfficacyIs LINX reflux surgery right for me. Interesting re LPR and MRIPatients with a hiatus hernia larger than 3 cm were initially ineligible but that is no longer the case. Patients with large hiatus hernia now routinely have the procedure and enjoy good results.Barrett’s Oesophagus – A patient with a diagnosis of Barrett’s was initially excluded but this was relaxed earlier this year so that a patient with a segment of non-dysplastic Barrett’s (less than 3cm) would now be eligible.MRI testing – The guidance has always been that LINX™ patients cannot have an MRI scan but there is good progress in this area and patients can now have MRI up to 0.7 Tesla. Testing continues at higher levels and hopefully this limit will be increased further in the near future. We expect that as the body of data for this procedure increases, inclusion criteria for the device will continue to evolve.Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) – We are occasionally asked whether LINX™ is an effective treatment for LPR in the same way it is for conventional reflux disease/symptoms. The answer is yes and we have a number of successful LPR patients who are now symptom free and off medication.UK Torax Websitehttp://linxrefluxsurgery.com/is-linx-reflux-surgery-for-me
Looks like you may have found your answer but the linx is just too new for me. I believe linx is on thier 2nd revision, the first was a straight set of beads and now it's a ring.
I read soooo many articles, it may take some time to find the info. Hopefully some of the healingwell linx experts can shed some light on this.
