Hi Everyone,
Has anyone on this site ever had a "Capsule Esophageal pH Monitor"? I am having that procedure Tuesday.
I heard it is very much like an endoscopy, in fact the first part of the procedure is the same thing, where
they stick the tube down your esophagus. In this one though, they attach a little capsule to your
esophagus. It stays there for a few days and you wear this little beeper-looking thing on your pants belt
and it records the pH in your esophagus as you do various things like eat, and have heartburn! Then
it's supposed to dislodge itself and sorta semi-dissolve then "pass out" of the body, if you know what I
mean...
Has anyone had this? I am concerned about what you can feel while the capsule is in there. I am also
concerned that I have read that the caspule doesn't always detach and/or dissolve and then they have
to go back in to remove it. And I'm a little concerned about how I'll feel while it detaches itself and
passes on through...in other words, I'm really concerned!
I sure would appreciate any comments, thoughts, suggestions about this procedure, if anyone has had it...
Thanks, I'm jumping from my usual Healing Well forum, the Cardiovascular site!
