Linx surgery April 10th

Hello....I am a new member here and have been reading through many of your posts.  I am scheduled to have the Linx procedure done at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA on April 10th.  Could someone please tell me how long I should expect to be out of work?  (I work in an office)  My surgeon told me approximately a week to 10 days....

I'm three weeks (and three days) post-surgery, and, despite all the adjustments and post-op tribulations, I'm still very glad I did it.

I think that planning to go back to work about 10 days after surgery is realistic. I took it easy during that time, but still went to the office a couple of times then and even gave a 1 hour talk on my feet six days after surgery. But this recovery thing comes in phases. And you might feel better in week 1 than you do in week 2 or week 3. That's just the way it is, and you have to ride it out until everything settles. At three weeks-plus I'm at about 70 percent of my pre-surgery energy level, and I continue to pace myself, eat carefully to ward off dysphagia, and watch symptoms closely. Odds are, you will too. But that's perfectly normal and part of the healing process.

And, as I mentioned in other posts, I've had no reflux and have taken no ppi's since surgery. That's been worth all the post-op healing issues. With luck it'll be the same for you.

By the way, who is your surgeon (if you don't mind sharing that)?

I just wanted to update you......my surgery for tomorrow has been cancelled. Blue Cross Blue Shield approved the procedure and then denied it the day before I was scheduled. I am beyond distraught over this to say the least. My surgeon is going to give it one last attempt at Appeal tomorrow morning....but it looks like I will have to have the Nissen instead.....

don't settle until there is nothing left to fight for. They like to play these games and hope people will just settle for what ever they tell them. Use all your appeals.
Now I am not saying the Nissen is bad, I done it 3 times, but if you really want the other surgery fight for it.

My physician tried again this morning.....no go!! I scheduled the Nissen for next Tuesday. These insurance companies are just becoming more ridiculous by the day!!
