I have been taking nitroglycerine for years for these horrible chest pains. The doctors always told me I didn't have heart problems. I ask why I had to take heart medicine if my heart was fine. He said because it was the only thing that worked. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason for the pain. If I take pain medicine I know I am going to be on the floor. I am so glad I found this forum. I think everyone thought I was a crazy hypochondriac. I don't have any problem with what I eat. I guess I am lucky that I can eat. I just can't take anything for pain except the nitroglycerine for the chest pains. I broke my leg a couple of years ago and I had to just grin and bear it. I am afraid of one day having a serious condition with no pain meds. I haven't read anything about a connection with pain meds and esophagus spasms but I know for a fact it is an issue with me. I spent a week in the hospital a few years ago and they kept giving me loratab. I thought I was going to die. They finally said that it couldn't be very serious or I would have already been dead. After I stopped taking the loratab the spasms stopped. I had dental work and took a loratab and that night I was on the floor. For me there is a connection. I was put in the hospital again to find what pain meds I could take. The results none. I didn't have chest pains with Tramidol but I had severe Vertigo. They tried everything. I couldn't take anything.
