Hi all. I am wondering if someone can help me. I have had reflux for about 3 years and was initially treated by zantac 150 once a day. Anyhow, it became worse and was put on Omeprazole which did not work that well and have now been put on Lansoprazole 30mg twice a day. Thia has worked really well and I feel loads better except for another problem. I am now very itchy all of the time and am taking antihistamines to try and control it. Should I go back to the doctor or carry on with the Lansoprazole. Is there something I can take to stop the itching?

It sounds like maybe you are allergic to something in the medication. I would go back to the GI doctor and see if there is another medication for you.

I agree, that sounds like a allergic reaction to meds.

Yes, do go back. I broke out in hives with Dexilant, but do well with Aciphex although they are very similar. They told me I could be allergic to a dye, or other ingredient. You might be able to call and tell them your issue and see if they really need to see you to prescribe something else. My doctor is good about that kind of thing.
