I had the TIF procedure on April 9 and it seemed to go really well. I expected a lot of pain after the procedure, but it really wasn't that bad by the time I went home. I experienced a lot of nausea, but finally figured out that it was caused by the prescript
ion pain meds I was taking. When I switched to Advil I was fine.
Before the surgery, my primary symptoms were regurgitation, frequent belching, and a constant feeling of a lump in my throat. Right now I am on soft foods and am definitely not experiencing regurgitation. When I had it in the past, I could always feel it coming up in my throat. I am burping, but I think they are just regular burps, typically right after eating.
The issue: The lump in my throat is still hanging around. Anyone else have this happen after surgery? Does it eventually go away? My surgeon seems to think I just need to give it some time. If that doesn't work, he said there are a few other options to deal with the symptom. I've had this for over a year and it makes me really anxious.... I'm afraid I'll have to deal with it every day for the rest of my life. :-(
