VCD, Hernia Repair breathing problems

recently I have been to urgent care and have been told that I have tracheal swelling going on and that I could have a vocal cord dysfunction related to my uncontrable GERD/LPR. Anyways, I just got back from meeting with a speech therapist who does indeed suspect I have VCD related to my LPR. While doing the breathing exercises where I am suppose to breath from my diaphragm I noticed I couldn't quite get it. I would be either breathing through my belly or my chest.

After a while I finally was able to breath from my diaphragm, but it was hard, it hurt. I remember being able to breath from this area while I ran all the time, but since I had my TIF/Hernia repair I haven't been able to do so.
I remember noticing this right after my surgery and would have a hard time breathing, but over time I just learned to not breath from my diaphragm because it was to hard.

Talking to the speech therapist and doing the breathing exercises, it does seem like I have some elements of VCD. Also, I have some elements of tracheal swelling, which was mention when I was being examined. What I'm wondering is how much of an impact does having a large hiatal hernia repair have on your breathing? It seems to effect mine quite a bit. I know I didn't have this problem prior to my TIF.

Another thing. If my hernia repair is causing me extra breathing problems, what can be done about it?

Yeah, It definitely has caused more problems than it has helped. Don't think I would of had it done if I knew this outcome. I'd still like to look towards the nissen however because it seems like I will need another surgery in the future regardless. The uw-health doctors said that my Tif will eventually loosen and that the long term data isn't good.

I would like to have the nissen done now, but it's hard to find a surgeon to do it since my TIF is intact.
