I had this surgery , last year August , so almost a year now. Don't really have any qualms , all the symptoms i had prior to the surgery are still there except i dont get reflux anymore. Well my biggest worry is now that i cant burp , which means increased flatulence and sometimes pretty bad at that, Especially at night time , when i lay down all the trapped gas gets released. Other then getting food stuck as well sometimes by eating to fast or trying to engulf large chunks , which i have just learned to bring back up effectively , which was all explained to me. Then there's the stitches , that hurts when im to full , or the wrap is stretched. And also the stitches in my abdominal wall hurt when im full as well. Surgeon he chose not to have self dissolving stitches in the muscle wall of my abdomen for reason it the intestine might break through the tear and ill have a hernia. Got stomach cramps , intense burning in my stomach , and lower intestines , i sometimes just put and icepack on my stomach that helps relieve the burn. I got Nexium 40mg that im on as well , but i don't always have money to purchase them they are Über expensive. I still have to go for a scope after the surgery now soon and sometimes i wonder if he`ll be able to get the camera lens through the opening which feels so super tight sometimes. I can still consume a lot of carbonated beverages , but have learned a little nick through getting through that , i love beer no surgery is going to keep from having beer. Other then that i have chronic gastritis well , i assume that`s from excessive alcohol consumption. Other then that i just dont eat sometimes , or try and eat very light.
