My husband found this site for me last night and encouraged me to join and see if anyone had a similar story that I might find some comfort in.
So here I go...my problem started last October with lower abdominal and back pain. I thought I had a kidney infection but my doctor thought more of a kidney stone. I had a CT scan done and I did have a stone but in a location that shouldn't cause pain. My urinalysis kept showing blood and the pain continued.
By the first of December my stomach was involved. I would have a feeling of constipation even though I was very regular. I was baffled by this because I never had any trouble with my stomach. Now did I not only have abdominal pain but I would bloat something terrible. My daughter told me I looked like I was 5 months pregnant.
With time I was able to piece together that when I felt constipated worsening pain was coming. There were a couple of odd symptoms that started at this time that I thought was stupid. If I wore anything snug on my waist it created a lot of pain and if anyone pressed on my abdomen it also created a lot of pain, sometimes for days.
With all of this going on foods started bothering me. An example is yogurt, I would eat a couple of bites and be in immediate pain but I would eat yogurt two days later and I was fine. I felt like I was playing Russian Roulette and in fact, I still am. I never know from day to day how I am going to feel.
My doctor has been trying to figure out what was creating all of this pain. I have been to couple of different doctors (Urologist, Gynecologist)and was finally referred onto a surgeon who thought I needed a endoscopy and a colonoscopy done.
The feeling of being constipated stopped by the end of March and I am not experiencing any symptoms of chronic constipation nor have I had any problems with diarrhea, just pain from my waist up.
I had the scopes done at the end of May and was told I had significant irritation from the bottom of my stomach up into my esophagus and from the bottom of my stomach into my small intestine. They did a biopsy from both locations. The biopsies showed abnormalities but not enough to indicate a certain disease.
Also a small mass was found in my stomach. He put me on Nexium and recommended a CT with contrast to see if this mass was true and it was spotted but very small, about the size of a marble.
I was referred on and just returned home yesterday from having an endoscopy ultrasound done. No mass was detected. I should be grateful for that but I am not. I have been wanting some resolution to all of my pain.
This whole situation has consumed my life. I was told that I have LA Grade B esophagitis which I have no idea what that means. Also, my Z-line was irregular and was found 39 cm from the incisors. Well, what does that mean??
I can tell today will be a hard day because I already feel bloated. I am asking anyone who has been through similar situations for any advise, input, or could help understand what I have going on.
Thank-you!
