Massive pain post esphogus stenting

I need some help please.  I had an esphogus stent put in on Tuesday and yesterday I had a bad case of vomiting and since then I have been in tremendous pain.  I went this morning for xrays to check the placement of the stent to make sure it did not migrate... I am really in terrible pain and need some suggestions/help.

So sorry for your problems, Rachelesque. Unfortunately we are not doctors. I hope you will call the doctor who put the stent in.

Welcome to Healing Well!  I'm so sorry to hear you're having problems and pain post-stent.  Did you call your doctor's office?  I agree with Alcie that it's the very first step.  I wish I could provide more information, but I don't really have any experience with the topic of stents.

In any case, vomiting will introduce highly acidic fluid into your healing esophagus, which will naturally cause pain in addition to the stent pain itself.

Welcome to Healing Well.

Why did you have the stent placed for? I am very familiar with the esophagus stent when my esophagus tore during an EGD and it wouldn't stop leaking after surgery.
I had some pretty bad pain for more than a week with mine and during the 2 months or so I had it I could feel it every time I swallowed. When it is let loose to open p it digs in to the tissue a lot. They showed me pics and it looked like ground meat between the mesh.
I could feel it move up and down with every swallow and felt the ends a lot.

It actually migrated up into my throat and I had to have an emergency removal.... problem is I need to have to replaced probably in two weeks...

Hi rachelesq,

Sorry to hear about the complication.  I hope you get it replaced and things heal quickly.  It's a rough thing to have to go through, and I hope things proceed as smoothly as possible.
