Hey all i'm new here 31 yr old female,

I've had acid reflux for about 2 months now & usually I pop a Gaviscon & it went away till the next day after dinner.

Lately, though its been terrible:

My arms feel like someone is dragging me down & for almost a week now I've had a fogginess & even a numbness or tickling feeling in my head and down my neck. Gaviscon ain't working, and my dr. prescribed zantac but I stopped taking it after it gave me terrible headaches :(

My regular family dr wasn't doing much after all my blood tests came back fine, so yesterday I went to meet with a new dr and he prescribed me some meds which I haven't looked into yet but I will try them.

Anyways, that's my story if any can relate I'd love to hear how your dealing.

Hey there! Have you had any tests done? I was on Prilosec and protonix and Zantac and they all gave me bad headaches. Protonix headaches went away after a week though. Are you on any other new medication for anything other than reflux? I had similar side effects from an anxiety medication I was on years ago.

No i'm not on anything else other than iron supplements that I've been on for over 5yrs.

This new dr. I've met with yesterday prescribed me 2 meds and they're called Domperidone & Rabeprazole. To be honest I don't think I'm gonna take them, I'd rather be seen by a gastro dr & than start taking meds. I don't wanna create more problems with all these meds I MIGHT not need.

How are you dealing now?

Please keep me updated on your condition, they diagnosed me with GERD and I have lost all sensation in my body. It started with my hands and soon after I got numbness in my face and legs, now its completely all over. I have to pinch to feel pain or anything at all. I got prescribed pepcid and protonix at the same time, went to the ER and a Dr said I didn't need to be on both.

I've been tested for just about everything they can do with blood, I've gotten to the point where I wish it is something just so I can get help. But so far no luck :( Got a stiff neck, lost some weight dealing with the new diet hopefully. I finally get to start seeing a doctor, I hope we can figure this out.

I'll definitely keep you updated and pls do the same.

I think on Monday i'm gonna go ask my dr if he'll send me to GI dr. I'm currently waiting to see a neurologist because of my headaches which i'm sure is all connected to my acid reflux.

I definitely know the feeling of wanting them to just find something so we can work on fixing it, but unfortunately these days you gotta be your own dr!

Have you ever thought of seeing a acupuncture person? I would consider it, might help with the numbness or maybe release some stress of this all.

I'm in a long process for getting a Dr and getting some insurance so I can get things done and
thorough. I urinated blood the other day and got put on Ciprofloxacin, hoping it was just a weird urinary tract infection or something. I really want to get my heart checked out because sometimes I just don't think its heartburn, I never experienced any of this before and bam one day they're telling me I have GERD. I just don't know enough about what I am going through and I am probably stressing myself to the moon.
