A quick hello! Next week I will reach the 3 month mark, post surgery- and I must say that swallowing becomes easier with each passing month. I was unable to swall pills without crushing them. I then was able to swallow them by cutting them in half. I can now swallow them whole. I had my first thick steak dinner post surgery. I chewed very thorough and had no incidences of food getting stuck in the wrap-- that's a first! More importantly, I've been off PPIS for over two and a half months. No heartburn, reflux or nocturnal aspiration. I gained back the weight I lost and I feel good. Good luck to all those who are in the early stages of post surgery. Hang in there. You'll like the outcome.

Ian Victor,

I am at the 3 month mark too. I caught a nasty stomach bug but everything seems okay. The wrap is irritated and I am still on soft foods. Can you feel your stitches now? Where did you get your surgery? Did your surgeon answer any post questions?

Hi Ian, - it's good to hear from you! Thanks for the update. I'm, looking forward to swallowing some of the whole tablets, again. I can't do it, yet. They get stuck and I choke. I have hope - as I take a lot of them everyday.

Guess I should feel grateful that at 5 1/2 weeks I can swallow anything- pills, bread, meat, but the digestion is still off. Have figured out this is just another stage in the process. Dr. Did say that my system was not digesting foods in the normal way so it will take time!
