Quick question! Currently I am taking Mirtazapine (15mg) daily, but I want to quit because it isn't helping my mood or symptoms. The throat gurgling with gas (like when I bend over sometimes) is especially worse now. Out of curiousity I was wondering if antidepressants could cause GI symptoms like more burping or gas escaping up the throat?

I was put on an antidepressent recently and yes, it can cause a variety of GI symptoms. Mine was not gas, but more of a burning, stomach upset, but it is a very common side effect.
I did not take it very long, needless to say.

Remeron side effects:

Belching - Noisy release of gas from the stomach through the mouth; a burp. Dyspepsia/Indigestion. The discomfort one may experience after eating. It can be heartburn, gas, nausea, a bellyache or bloating.

You answer is yes in fact this drug has more than 100 side effects..............

Uh oh, I just realised something important. I'm taking another Peptest but I just realised on my last sample collection - as well as this current one - I was under the effects of an antidepressant..! Could they cause invalid results?
