Hi Bill, well my diet is pretty tame but I am eating very little. I don't feel hungry and I feel nauseous all the time. The thing is, before the op, for about three months my LPR had subsided to the point I almost felt normal, which is why I agonised so much about actually having the Nissen. I couldnt for the life of me figure out why i was feeling better, i hadnt changed anything.
When I wake up in the morning my upper valve to my throat is under so much pressure it aches until I sit up and burp. So gas seems to be building up during the night. I'm burping more and more each day and my excruciating throat pain is back. I am not eating late or anything, and sticking to foods I am used to, mainly home made root veg soup.
Maria, do you have any problem with burping? I was asked by the doctor not to take my PPI any more and I would be happy to stay off them, since they didn't seem to help the throat problems anyway.
We seem to be in a similar time frame where our ops are concerned. Maybe the oesophagus is adjusting to the new function. I don't have heartburn much, just some very slight occasional burning feelings in the chest but not severe or prolonged.
I am so very worried. My scars haven't healed very neatly and I feel wrecked. I hope I haven't ruined my body with this op. I would have taken that side of it happily if I felt it had done the trick.
Uncomfy and very anxious.
