Is it possible to start having allergic reaction after 4 months of taking ranaditine

I have been taking he generic form of Zantac - and I have started having a more severe case of arm, chest pain, dizzyness, nauseous, loss of appetite and just a overall disoriented feeling all day - have even had problems started not being able to sleep - last night I didn't take my Zantac and slept through the night and just felt better overall - I took my medicine today and all the symptoms started again. Anyone happen to this before?

Hi Delphnyed,

If you're having those symptoms, it makes sense to stop. Be sure to call your doctor and report what has been going on. Long ago I took Sulfa for bladder infections repeatedly over several years, and one day my throat closed, and I got hives all over my body. So there's an example of an allergy after doing fine on the drug for a long time.

Call you doctor for sure...see what he/she thinks you should do.

I had a similar experience with Zantac. Mostly the dizziness and overall bad feeling after taking it for a while. Now my Dr has it listed as an allergy in my chart.
