Since starting having LPR symptoms I have been reading numerous posts and people's experience, however there are still lots of unanswered questions:
- Some people still have LPR after surgery procedures, most explain this as aspired acid/pepsin or bile. What causes such aspiration and why can't a supposedly fixed LES prevent it? (there are even LPR patients with fine working LES) Can digestive enzymes/probiotics help to prevent this (by eliminating fermented gas and delayed digestion in stomach)?
- Some patients had success with neuro drugs like Evavil and Neurotin especially when lots of them had negative reflux and endoscopy results, so could this LPR thing be neuro than actually reflux? (where the patient is experiencing LPR symptoms from the nerves being damaged or hypersensitive from very little aspired gas that normally wouldn't cause problems?)
